Title: Facilities Support Worker
Reports to: Facilities Coordinator
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract (37.5 hours/week, 1 year contract)
Salary: $43,251.00 - $50,875.50, annually

Location: Multiple locations (Kingston and Napanee)
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Facilities Coordinator, the Facilities Support Worker performs routine maintenance of all KCHC’s physical sites, liaises with external contractors and vendors as needed, and works to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Site Support
- Ensures KCHC building and sites are welcoming, presentable, and congruent with the needs of visitors and staff
- Travels between sites to complete assigned tasks based on priority and scheduling.
- Supports consistent facility standards and procedures across all sites.
- Assists with cross-site supply delivery, redistribution, and inventory alignment
General Maintenance and Repairs
- Ensures all buildings are clean and safe from obstacles and hazards, including hazardous materials, garbage and recycling removal, deep cleaning, pest control, and biohazard care
- Supports the repair and maintenance of interior and exterior structures, including doors, small equipment, windows, walls, floors, and roofing.
- Performs minor carpentry, painting, mechanical, and plumbing tasks
- Supports the development and maintenance schedules for organizational vehicles, building systems, and equipment.
- Supports office moves and set-up and installation of furniture and equipment.
- Ensures all furnishings, equipment, and personal protective equipment are in good repair
- Supports inventory management of maintenance supplies and equipment at all sites.
- Supports regular garbage and recycling disposal schedule.
- Set ups/tears down rooms for programs and events.
- Supports snow removal, lawn care, and other exterior building maintenance requirements.
- Supports infection prevention protocols.
- Completes disinfection and sanitation tasks, as required.
Contractor and Vendor Support
- On-site liaison for vendors and contractors, as directed.
Administration
- Records maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Maintains logs of routine tasks.
- Reports new and recurring issues to Coordinator and recommends corrective actions.
Safety and Security
- Supports the onboarding of new staff, as needed, including providing staff with key fobs, keys, and alarm system details.
- Responds to internal emergency alarm system and provides support to clients and staff in the event of an emergency or crisis.
- Supports emergency drills.
- Provides and supports general security services for buildings, including property management emergencies.
- Supports compliance for Fire and Safety maintenance.
- Supports the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee through responding to and addressing requests to minimize and mitigate hazards in the workplace.
- Supporting monitoring security cameras and access logs and extract footage and access reports, as required
- Supports the maintenance schedule of all organizational vehicles

Basic Education and Experience Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or certification in related field an asset, such as building maintenance, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, occupational health and safety, security, or a skilled trade.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience and knowledge in building maintenance including, but not limited to: cleaning, repair, and basic electrical, carpentry and plumbing; experience in large, high traffic facilities, an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of and experience with electrical and mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, and basic plumbing systems
- Experience completing routine safety inspections, an asset.
- Experience working with basic hand tools, power tools, ladders, and facility maintenance equipment safely and responsibly.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.
- Valid driver’s license, valid insurance and use of reliable vehicle, clean driving record
- Awareness of, and ability to support, provincial and federal privacy regulations

- Ability to work at heights, in a variety of environmental conditions, and in tight spaces
- Ability to work after hours/on call schedule, as needed

- Current and satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Persons Check
- Working at Heights and Health and Safety training an asset
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training an asset
- Current CPR and First Aid certificates an asset
- Valid Drivers License, Access to a vehicle, and Current Drivers Abstract
