The Facilities Project Coordinator works as part of a high-performing team that is responsible for the coordination/administration and delivery of Service Nova Scotia facilities strategy. This is done through managing projects; supervising new office space fit outs & existing office space renovations; coordinating system furniture installations and re-configurations. This is all done while ensuring that employees have a safe and healthy place to work.
This position reports directly to the Manager, Facilities and Corporate Services.

To be considered for this opportunity, you hold a bachelor’s degree + 1 year related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
As the successful candidate, you must be familiar with the process for the procurement of leased space and goods. You must have knowledge of systems, furniture, building services, and construction. You must have working knowledge of architectural drawings, space programs, and the ability to provide informed advice as space plans are developed and reviewed.
As the successful incumbent, you must have solid customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully with staff and executives as well as private sector contacts. You must have the ability to determine client needs and ensure that those needs are incorporated into the requirements for proposal documents. You must demonstrate effective interpersonal communications (both oral and written) and possess strong organizational skills. This role requires the incumbent to be a team player working to enable peers, as well as an independent worker able to exercise sound judgement and initiative. Much of the work is project based, so you must manage within fixed timelines, balance competing priorities and work within the budget. You must also be proficient in standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day (and will require availability 24/7 during times of crisis). You may be required to work overtime on occasion.
You primarily work within a comfortable office environment. There will be regular travel at local and provincial level to manage existing operations and attend project meetings.
This position requires regular travel around the province; therefore, a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license is required.
Visually demanding using computer monitors, sitting for long periods of time and occasionally moves/lifts light objects such as office supplies, furniture, and equipment. Normal office environment with a high degree of concentration and accuracy needed. Challenged with balancing competing priorities, ensuring tasks are completed on time and attention to detail is required. Must be able to work calmly and effectively under stress as the incumbent is under frequent demands to ensure numerous deadlines are met and client requests are responded to promptly.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Pay Grade: PR 06 - PR 10
Salary Range: $1,924.95 - $2,760.42 Bi-Weekly
