Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Press Operator in Waterloo, Ontario. You will be responsible for safely setting up and operating automated press machinery, ensuring high productivity and quality. Candidates must possess relevant experience, be proficient with measuring tools, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. The position offers a pay rate of $22.55/hr plus vacation pay.

Qualifications

  • Experience with automated press machinery and production orders.
  • Ability to utilize and interpret inspection gauges and equipment.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and recognize defects.

Responsibilities

  • Produce parts for Quality Control Approval.

Overview

On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is looking for an experienced Press Operator in WATERLOO.

Pay Rate: $22.55/hr + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly!

Shift: Days Monday to Thursday: 7am-4:30, Fridays during peak production times.

Responsibilities
  • Set-up and safe operations of automated press machinery in a timely and safe manner
  • Setting up machinery for production orders
  • Strong focus on productivity, quality checks, workmanship standards
  • Address problems and find solutions to improve efficiencies
  • Producing first off/last off parts for Quality Control Approval
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Relevant experience with the above noted responsibilities
  • Ability to utilize and interpret inspection gauges and equipment
  • Proficient with measuring tools (Vernier Calipers, gauges)
  • Strong understanding of recognizing defects and processes for correction
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Experience with Word, Excel and powerpoint
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Ability to follow priorities, achieve goals and coordinate activities
  • Strong attendance record and attention to detail are a must
  • CSA Approved Footwear
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Reliable, punctual and dependable
