Job description
Pollinator-friendly, pesticide-free gardening
  • Owner endeavours to create a relaxed work environment where your opinions & ideas are respected.
  • You’ll be gardening part of a small team and sometimes alone.
  • We garden using native pollinator plants as much as possible, no fossil fuel powered tools, no chemical pesticides.
  • Flexibility to your schedule provided when possible.
  • Work starts in mid April and goes till December ~ we're flexible with our schedule ~ very accomodating to part time hours - our average work days are Monday through Thursday starting at 7:30 am and finishing around 3pm
  • Having a vehicle is very helpful ~ sometimes we're in Etobicoke, North York, sometimes in the Beaches ~ work can be all over
  • This is a self-employed job

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • General gardening including but not limited to: Planting, treating plant disease, pruning, planting, dead-heading, digging, trimming, arranging planters etc
  • Working outdoors in rain or hot weather.
  • Will need to transport yourself to job sites
  • Salary between $25 - $35 based on experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Excellent ability to identify plants, weeds, shrubs and health of plants
  • Experience using hand & battery powered garden tools
  • Knowledge of plants, including native plants
  • Strong, fit and energetic
  • Reliability & punctuality is mandatory
  • Climbing a ladder on occasion may be required
  • Landscape, horticulture, restoration ecology education an asset
  • Must be a lover of gardening, healthy soil and the environment
