To be successful in this position, you will have at least ONE YEAR of RECENT experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing environment and basic material handling equipment experience.

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for ensuring that product and materials are handled in a safe efficient manner to meet tight deadlines. The job requires someone who can work both on the forklift and handle product by hand. Must be safety conscious, with attention to detail.

This position includes rotating days/afternoons shifts, or straight night shifts.

History:

At Chapman’s, we’ve been making perfectly delicious ice cream and frozen treats since 1973. Today, we are the largest independent ice cream manufacturer in Canada. Our product lineup includes more than 280 frozen treats – including premium ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, water ice Lolly’s and a range of novelties.

Requirements:

• Previous forklift experience required and basic material handling equipment
• Understands warehousing principles (FIFO, expiry dates, loading/unloading trucks)
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Pick stock with the forklift and ensure finished product is protected at all times
• Load and unload trucks using the forklift
• Move product from production floor to cold storage/trailers in a timely fashion
• Fill out appropriate paperwork, accurately and completely
• Follow all Health and Safety requirements
• Ability to accurately read text
• Work within a fast-paced team environment
• Dedicated, articulate and attention to detail
• Able to work in a cold/refrigerated environment (-25 degrees C)

Compensation:

• Initial starting rate of $23.75 per hour
• $1.00 per hour shift premium on the straight night shift
