About the Role
We are seeking anExecutive Underwriterto join a growing commercial underwriting team. In this role, you’ll manage and service a portfolio of highly complex accounts, applying your expertise to evaluate risks, negotiate terms, and deliver tailored insurance solutions. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring and developing other underwriters, ensuring best practices are followed and technical skills continue to advance across the team.

This position is ideal for an experienced underwriter who thrives on complex challenges, enjoys building relationships, and is motivated by profitable growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Underwrite and service large, complex commercial accounts in alignment with company standards and guidelines.

Apply advanced problem-solving skills to identify creative solutions for unique risks.

Act as a trusted partner to brokers, strengthening relationships and supporting business development initiatives.

Mentor and coach junior and intermediate underwriters, providing training and guidance on underwriting best practices.

Contribute to team objectives, national service standards, and overall portfolio profitability.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 10 years of underwriting experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.

Completion of, or working toward, the CIP and/or FCIP designation.

Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, insurance contracts, rating tools, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Experience coaching and mentoring underwriting colleagues.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to modern underwriting systems and workflows.
