  • Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities and industry partners.

We are seeking an exceptional Executive Director to lead our organization through its next phase of growth and impact. Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight while building trusted relationships across Indigenous communities, government, and industry. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary leader to make a meaningful difference while collaborating with diverse partners and stakeholders.

As the Voice of Indigenous Business in Manitoba, the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (ICC) advances Indigenous business prosperity by supporting member success through networking, education, leadership, and advocacy. ICC represents Indigenous-owned businesses, non-indigenous-owned business, allied organizations, and service providers committed to Indigenous economic development and economic reconciliation.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Lead all activities in alignment with ICC’s values, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Implement the Board-approved strategic plan and annual operational plans.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture and effectively lead staff and volunteers.
Governance and Board Relations
  • Support the Board of Directors in fulfilling its governance responsibilities.
  • Ensure Board decisions, policies, and directions are implemented effectively.
  • Prepare clear reports, briefing materials, and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Maintain clear boundaries between governance and operations, respecting the Board’s oversight role and the Executive Director’s management role.
  • Promote ethical leadership, accountability, and policy compliance.
Operations and Organizational Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Chamber.
  • Develop and manage annual work plans, timelines, and required resources.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with legal, regulatory, and cultural obligations.
Human Resources
  • Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture.
  • Support staff well-being and professional growth.
  • Prepare and present the annual budget and provide regular financial reporting to the Board.
  • Identify, pursue, and steward diverse revenue sources.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and financial integrity.
Community Relations and Advocacy
  • Strengthen ICC’s brand and value proposition to members and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities, governments, funders, and industry partners.
  • Engage stakeholders to advance Indigenous economic development, advocacy, and policy priorities.
