Overview

Events Manager (12-Month Contract) at Hilton Toronto, HOT0BXP1. This position covers a 12-month maternity leave and provides support and direction to the Events Department, with responsibility for maximizing Banquet revenue and maintaining high standards of service for guests.

Responsibilities
  • Create and distribute all details of bookings in the form of BEO and other reports in a timely and organized fashion to appropriate departments to facilitate efficient planning, purchasing and scheduling.
  • Ensure any missing details are addressed with the client before the event.
  • Provide sales support for team members at closing of potential business.
  • Liaise with other department team members to communicate information and ensure customer satisfaction and hotel profitability.
  • Develop individual monthly production reports and monitor results.
  • Inspect function rooms and welcome clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat clientele.
  • Prepare and customize proposals to meeting client’s needs and hotel’s profitability guidelines.
  • Attend client set up and/or special events to ensure smooth running and introduce client to Banquets/Operations.
  • Track events productivity report on a weekly basis.
  • Analyze banquet revenues daily to ensure revenue goals are met.
  • Conduct site inspections with clients, showing rooms, meeting space, food and beverage, and recreation facilities.
  • Provide written and verbal communication to clients regarding the management of their account.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role with a proven track record.

Positive attitude and effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Commitment and drive to delivering a high level of customer service.

Strong leadership, organizational and planning skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges.

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field would be advantageous.
