Job description
Responsibilities
  • Epic BMDI integrations Support.
  • Serve as the onshore lead and liaison between clinical, biomedical, IT, and Epic application teams.
  • Coordinate with Epic interface teams (such as Bridges and Device Integration) to ensure HL7 and device data mapping is accurately configured.
  • Manage device inventory mapping and prioritize integration efforts based on clinical impact and readiness.
  • Oversee validation and testing of device data flows into Epic (including waveform, vitals, and alarms where applicable).
  • Partner with Clinical Engineering/Biomed teams for device readiness, firmware versioning, and network compatibility.
  • Facilitate project status meetings, issue resolution sessions, and communication between onshore and offshore teams.
  • Ensure device integration complies with cybersecurity, privacy, and data integrity standards.
  • Document workflows, SOPs, and support procedures related to BMDI systems.
  • Support go-live and stabilization efforts, including staff training and post-implementation monitoring.
  • Participate in system upgrades, maintenance cycles, and future enhancement planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Biomedical Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT with 2+ years in Epic BMDI or device integration projects.
  • Deep understanding of Epic EHR architecture, especially Epic Bridges, Device Integration workflows, and HL7 protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of medical devices commonly used in hospitals (e.g., patient monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators).
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple integration efforts simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with clinical environments and workflows in ICU, ED, Med-Surg, and other settings.
  • Experience with documentation and change management processes in a regulated healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic Bridges or BMDI certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Understanding of network infrastructure, VLANs, and IP management as it pertains to device connectivity.
  • Experience with Philips ICCA, Capsule, or other middleware for device aggregation.
  • PMP, ITIL, or other project management credentials.
  • Prior experience in hospital system EHR transitions or upgrades.
