Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental technician expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, proactive, and innovative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in reducing the environmental footprint of Canada’s busiest public transit system. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, project management, and operations), perform environmental impact analyses, and implement measures to control risks, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and Alstom standards, working on site (50%) and at the office (50%).

We’ll look to you for:

Performing site inspections and audits to ensure compliance and detect opportunities and improvement.

  • Performing site visits to evaluate needs & actions plan for furture activities

Implementing procedure and directives

  • Training employees and contractors

Supporting the Project EHS Director on environmental topics

Preparing and managing impacts analysis and emergency plan implementation.

Providing guidance to site personnel to prevent environmental pollution and minimize environmental impacts.

Advising on and coordinating activities related to environmental compliance and performance.

Developing and deploying site-specific EHS management systems aligned with ISO 14001 standards.

Performing environmental legal compliance checks and ensuring updates to the Transport EHS Liabilities database.

Capturing, reporting, and analyzing environmental damages and implementing corrective actions.

University degree or credentials in environmental science or related field

Environment qualification/certification such as Registered Environmental Manager (REM) or Canadian Environmental Professional (EP) are considered assets.

Professional experience of at least 3 year in an environmental position

Stong knowlegede of local legal environmental requirements.

Strong knowledge of ISO 14001

Experience in the railway industry is a plus.

  • Experience in construction inductry is a plus.

Environmental Auditor certification is desirable.

Teamwork and leadership skills with an initiative-driven mindset.

Rigor and professionalism

Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.

Proficiency in computer skills and continuous improvement tools.

  • Ability to work in a field environment and night shifts.
