Overview

Director, Vancouver Island Operations at TerraWest Environmental Inc. We are looking for an ambitious and growth-minded Environmental Project Manager to join our team in the Victoria office. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in shaping the future of our environmental consulting services.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) with attention to detail and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and oversee Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs) and Detailed Site Investigations (DSIs).
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Design and implement environmental remediation plans and oversee remediation projects to meet client and regulatory expectations.
  • Carry out compliance monitoring, audits, and inspections.
  • Prepare and secure regulatory permits, instruments, and approvals, liaising with relevant agencies as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposals.
  • Mentor and support junior staff to promote professional growth and maintain high standards.
Qualifications
  • Attitude : Positive, approachable, team-oriented, and open-minded.
  • Education & Membership : Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with active or eligible membership in a recognized professional association (AScT, P.Eng., P.Geo., R.P.Bio., P.Chem., P.Ag., or equivalent).
  • Experience : 5–7 years of progressive environmental consulting experience, including at least 3 years in BC. Direct expertise in contaminated site assessments and remediation required.
  • Project Management : Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules with a track record of successful delivery.
  • Versatility : Willingness to cross-train and acquire additional skills to support diverse projects.
  • Technical Proficiency : Strong computer skills and ability to adapt quickly to new programs.
  • Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
  • Physical Fitness : Capable of performing fieldwork, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Transportation : Reliable vehicle and a clean Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Travel Flexibility : Willingness to travel occasionally within BC.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly wage range : $38–$44 / hr (commensurate with experience).
