Job summary

A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking an Environmental Engineering Co-Op to join its environmental department for a 16-month term. Located in Oshawa, the candidate will support compliance, lead sustainability initiatives, and collaborate with facility engineers. Ideal for students in Environmental or related engineering disciplines, this role requires problem-solving skills and a valid driver’s license. Experience in industrial settings is preferred, and some travel may be required across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's (3rd or 4th year) degree.
  • Enrolled in a qualifying Ontario co-operative education or internship program.
  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week for a 16-month term.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental compliance related to operations at GM Canada’s non-manufacturing sites.
  • Plan and lead employee engagement campaigns.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives for GM’s Reduction Commitments.
  • Support the management of the ISO14001 Environmental Management System.
