Job summary

A leading technology firm in Canada is seeking an Engineering Technician with expertise in mechanical testing of medical devices. This role involves performing hands-on tests, ensuring compliance with strict industry procedures, and accurately recording test data. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomechanical engineering and experience in a laboratory setting. Qualifications

Job description
Position: Engineering Technician [Mechanical Testing]

Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Total Hours/week: 40.00

This laboratory technician will mainly perform bench-level mechanical tests of medical devices, following written test procedures and without requiring constant supervision.

Typical Work
  • Hands‑on measurement of tension and compression forces on products.

Because this is a highly regulated business, the technician must also vigilantly comply with procedures typical in a medical device company.

The technician must be able to follow detailed technical instructions, maintain concentration and attention to detail throughout long test durations, and accurately record and report test data.

Applicants MUST Meet The Following Requirements
  • Experience with using testing equipment in a laboratory or in QC.
  • Able to maintain concentration and attention to detail throughout long test durations.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to use PC software including Excel.
The Following Are Desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomechanical engineering.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as automotive or medical device.
  • Experience in using mechanical testing machines such as the Instron.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and Minitab software.
