Job description
POSITION SUMMARY

As an Engineering Technician, you’ll play a key role in bringing new products to life and improving existing designs. You’ll collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and efficient.


Responsibilities


  • Designing new products and revising existing designs.

  • Creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate engineering documentation (BOMs, drawings, ECOs).

  • Applying advanced detailing and drafting skills for complex components and assemblies.

  • Coordinating projects, collaborating with suppliers, and supporting testing and validation activities.

  • Working closely with manufacturing and production to ensure seamless handoff from design to build.

  • Supporting research and development initiatives for new technologies and product improvements.


Qualifications


  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or equivalent).

  • 3+ years of experience in design, analysis, and project support within custom equipment, heavy machinery, or metal fabrication.

  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, especially Weldments, Sheet Metal, and large assemblies.

  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/DFA) and GD&T.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems

  • FEA knowledge is an asset.

  • Strong analytical skills with a solid background in materials.

  • Project management skills, including planning, organizing, and problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
