Nova Scotia Power’s 3-year rotational Engineer in Training program is designed to develop Engineers in Training (EIT) technical and leadership skills to enable them to become technical and people leaders at Nova Scotia Power and shape the future of our company for our customers. Throughout this three year program, EITs will continue to develop their knowledge base by working with a variety of teams across the business, including the operational areas of Power Production. At the end of the program, you will have fulfilled 36 months of work experience required toward receiving your Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
Power Production
Locations you may work in as a Power Production EIT include our power generation facilities located at Lingan, Point Aconi, Point Tupper, Trenton, Tuft’s Cove as well as several hydro operations throughout the province. Business departments you may work in as a Power Production EIT include work in Hydro, Wind and Thermal power generation, project management and tracking, mitigating risk and planning for our power generation system. We are currently looking to fill four (4) Engineer-In Training positions as part of our EIT Rotational Program for Power Production to start work in June 2026. In this role you will either work out of the Halifax Regional Municipality, Trenton or Cape Breton with some travel to other areas of the province as required. This position is considered a safety sensitive position. As such, the successful candidate must comply with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Policy which requires a confidential pre-employment alcohol and drug test in accordance with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Procedure.
