A leading insurance organization in Ontario is seeking a Disability Management Specialist responsible for managing short term disability claims for employees. The role includes evaluating medical information, developing recovery plans, and guiding workplace parties in ensuring a safe return to work. Salary Grade: N07 From: $90,639.25 To: $113,299.00
Responsible for the management of Short term disability (STD) for all employees who are absent due to illness or injury. Under the STD program, assess medical information to determine level of disability, make entitlement and duration decisions and communicate these decisions to appropriate workplace parties.
Manage employee recovery program and make determinations on ability to return to work (RTW).
Provide guidance to and collaborate with workplace parties and service providers to identify barriers and develop action plans which focus on accommodating the abilities of the employee and what they are capable of doing including appropriate completion dates, milestones and activities required to achieve recovery, successful stay at work (SAW) or timely and safe RTW.
