A community hospital in Ontario is seeking part-time, full-time, or locum Emergency Department physicians. Responsibilities include clinical coverage and mentorship in a teaching hospital environment. Candidates must have ACLS and ATLS, along with a valid CPSO and OHIP billing numbers. Groves Memorial Community Hospital is recruiting for part-time, full-time, or locum Emergency Department physicians in Fergus, Ontario (approximately 20 minutes north of Guelph).
Location: Fergus, ON. Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Locum. Groves Memorial Community Hospital is located near Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo and about 60 minutes from the GTA. The ED is supported by a local group of GPs with anesthesia, general surgery, internal medicine, and gynecology consultants available. On-site imaging and labs include X-ray, Ultrasound, Lab, and CT scans. ED volumes are approximately 60-80 visits per day. Scheduling is flexible. Competitive AFA hourly rates plus shadow billings. HOCC funding is available for on-call support. ED Mentorship support is also available.
Provide Emergency Department clinical coverage at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus as part of a teaching hospital environment. Work with a team including local GPs and consultants, and utilize on-site imaging and lab services. Participate in ED mentorship and contribute to a teaching site for McMaster University Medical School. Utilize electronic charting and order entry (PatientKeeper) integrated with Meditech and PACS. Take part in on-call arrangements as eligible for HOCC funding.
The ED Mentorship Program promotes integration of community-based family practitioners into local EDs. Funding is provided for up to four months upon commencement. Eligibility criteria are as listed above.
Restricted Registration details: physicians may participate if engaged in accredited residency training programs leading to certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians of Canada and provide clinical services for remuneration outside of residency. Residents in an accredited Ontario residency program are eligible to participate. Benefits include gaining experience in varied practice settings, building confidence for practice, and earning additional income.
