A leading mining services company in Sudbury seeks an experienced electrical professional to troubleshoot and repair ventilation and electrical systems in an underground environment. The ideal candidate must possess an electrical trades certificate, be a member of OCOT, and have at least 5 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an underground mining environment.
  • Experience in planning and installation of low to high voltage.
  • Ontario Hard Rock Underground Service Type Common Core required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair ventilation fans.
  • Maintain and repair electric/hydraulic equipment.
  • Assist in repairs to underground substations.
  • Install electrical apparatus and cables.

Job Description

Project: North Mine • Location: Sudbury • Rotation: 5 days on, 4 days off, 5 days on and 5 days off • Shift Length: 10.5 hours • Travel: Not provided

Pre-employment requirements: Drug Test

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair ventilation fans
  • Lighting and electric/hydraulic equipment
  • IT Department
  • PLC and other advanced or automation systems
  • High Voltage and Low Voltage Power and control systems
  • Assist and carry out repairs and maintenance to all underground sub-station
  • Fabricate electrical panels and other necessary installation of electrical cables
  • Installation of electrical apparatus
Qualifications
  • Electrical trades certificate of competence for Industrial or Construction and Maintenance (required)
  • Registered and active member with the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an underground mining environment
  • Ontario Hard Rock Underground Service Type Common Core (or other provincial equivalent) (required)
  • Experience in planning, installation of low, medium, and high voltage installation and repairs
