Job description
Overview

This is a new opportunity : Electrical Project Manager - remote in the Ottawa region, with an international multidisciplinary buildings engineering consulting firm. This is a large corporate environment where the engineer collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to coordinate and complete projects. The role works with an internal consulting team on large, high-complexity government, institutional, and commercial building projects across Canada.

Logistics

Remote (work from home) with no weekly in-office requirement. The position is based in the Ottawa region for required site visits and client meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing multiple electrical design projects, including 1) overall project scope and deliverables, 2) CAD deliverables, and 3) project budgets and financials.
  • Feasibility research and design of building electrical systems: power distribution, utilities connections, lighting, controls, emergency power, life-safety systems, and fire alarms, renewable power generation and storage.
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and architects to develop detailed designs.
  • Electrical design to support tenant and mechanical system upgrades.
  • From project initiation to completion, support the team by providing equipment selections, cost and timing, estimates, reports, design specifications and drawings for building electrical systems.
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering license with PEO (P.Eng).
  • Eligible for Government of Canada Secret level security clearance.
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering with Electrical Engineering focus.
  • 7+ years relevant working experience in electrical building systems engineering including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and associated systems.
  • Public Sector, Commercial and Institutional building design experience considered an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Extensive project track record using relevant Electrical Codes and Provincial Building Codes.
