Experience
  • Previous experience in a child care setting an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Successful completion of a recognized Early Childhood Educator II program and completed or willing to complete the 40-hour course requirements for working in a Children Centre.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must have First Aid and CPR.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrates ability to relate effectively to children, parents and community.
  • Demonstrates a calm and confident manner during difficult situations.
  • Demonstrates ability in planning activities for children.
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position.
  • Represents the Churchill RHA in a professional and positive manner.
Physical Requirements
  • Possible posture and muscle problems.
  • Other demands as it pertains to position.
  • Possible contact with children with aggressive behavior.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
