Job Description
The Manager, Fund Accounting is responsible for the accounting and reporting for commingled funds and separate accounts within our Private Funds and Advisory business, the review and supervision of the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for separate accounts, side car investments and commingled funds, including investor reporting and management analysis.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review of quarterly working papers for commingled funds and separate accounts prepared by the fund accountant to ensure completeness of transactions and accuracy of financial statements.
Prepare all funding calls and distributions to limited partners.
Ensure that advances to developers are accurate and properly recorded.
Prepare schedules for management reports and ensure consistency between the management reports and financial information.
Respond to investor queries promptly.
Communicate with the investment team as required on new and existing investments.
Primary resource to corporate and tax teams to meet reporting requirements.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement of reporting and operational processes.
Supervise, mentor, and develop fund accountants.
Assist with special projects including system upgrades, investor requests and new entity setup.
Qualifications:
Big 4 experience a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Must be a collaborative team player willing and able to work in a demanding environment.
Applicants with experience in private equity, funds management or financial services will be given preference.
Strong report query skills within an integrated GL and excellent Excel knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
University degree in Finance, Commerce (or relevant field).
CPA Designation a must.
5-8 years’ experience with real estate and private equity companies.
Knowledge of US GAAP and ASPE required.
