Qualifications

  • Valid B or F Class License held for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Clean Driver Abstract with no demerit points.
  • Clean Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Understanding of the vehicle-for-hire industry and relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with wheelchair tie-down systems.

Primary Responsibilities

The Driver Trainer is responsible for training and teaching employees how to drive all Company owned vehicles in a safe and professional manner. The role also includes providing a high degree of customer service in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Conduct Driver Assessments to evaluate skill, safety, and readiness.
  • Deliver Voyago Division Training Programs in accordance with company standards and policies.
  • Facilitate License Upgrading programs, specifically for B Class licensing.
  • Lead external instructional training sessions as required.
  • Support the Transit Supervisor with additional duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid B or F Class License held for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Clean Driver Abstract with no demerit points.
  • Clean Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Proven track record of excellent customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of Durham Region and surrounding areas.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Understanding of the vehicle-for-hire industry and relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with wheelchair tie‑down systems (Q'Straint and similar).
