Overview

• Salary: $36.65 to $37.00 per hour (To be negotiated)
• Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
• Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Air Brakes Endorsement; Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
• Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports; Driver logbook; Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip); Maintenance and repair reports; Trip reports
• Type of trucking and equipment: Dump truck; Tractor-trailer
• Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio; Operate GPS and other navigation equipment
• Transportation/travel experience: Local
• Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check; Driving record check (abstract)
• Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle; Valid driver\'s licence
