Job description

Drawing Technologist (DT) – Audio Visual Systems (Remote)

Preferable Location(s): Toronto, Canada

The Drawing Technologist (DT) is responsible for creating and preparing project drawings and documentation. This role involves developing infrastructure and line drawings in AutoCAD based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other information. The DT collaborates closely with sales and project engineers to ensure the technical accuracy of the package for implementation, and with the project team to meet timelines, requirements, and complete closeout documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Drawings: Create and maintain detailed infrastructure and line drawings derived from project sales documentation, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project requirements.
  2. Cable pull lists: Develop comprehensive cable pull lists to assist installation teams with precise cable routing and identification.
  3. Small Parts List: Prepare detailed lists of small parts required from inventory, ensuring all miscellaneous parts are accounted for onsite during implementation.
  4. Data Management: Load equipment BOMs and drawings into data management software for project tracking, inventory control, and service.
  5. Collaboration: Work with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings align with system designs and project scopes.
  6. Quality Assurance: Review and update drawing standards based on lessons learned and field experiences. Update drawings with as-built information provided by onsite teams, documenting changes and adjustments.

Requirements:

  1. Proficient in AutoCAD with at least 2 years of experience.
  2. AVIXA - CTS certification is an asset.
  3. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to multitask and manage multiple project goals simultaneously.
