What You’ll Do
As we continue to grow our business in British Columbia, this role will be a hybrid of in-store leadership with hands on responsibilities including serving customers, supporting the warehouse operations with daily order selection as needed and the District Manager responsibilities listed below.
Operations Excellence
- Train and hold stores accountable to operation excellence
- Works directly with SM and ASM to identify recommendations for process improvements
- Visiting stores in your territory to conduct store audits, ensure adherence to action plans, and maintain positive work environments and culture of innovation, passion, and excellence in district.
- Cascading information to our stores, on issues including but not limited to: new policies, promotions, strategies, etc.
- Ensuring all locations deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
- Addressing and resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner.
Reporting
- Reporting on instore compliance to standards and operational excellence
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to achieve targets.
Forecasting
- Provide feedback from stores directly
Store Improvements (QA/Facility/H&S)
- Identify store needs and submits facilities requests
- Hold stores accountable to maintaining brand standards in store
- Audits with cross-functional partners
New Store Openings
- Recruitment and training of new store staff
- Operations set up
- Training, leading, mentoring, and supporting Store Managers to ensure effective management of the store operations and development of their teams.
- Assist in the development of tactical execution plans to support projects and new store growth; support with the management of project deadlines and communicate regular status updates to the Retail Director.
People & Culture
- Working alongside the Retail Director on Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager and Supervisor succession planning
- Conducting Store Manager performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge
- Work closely with People & Culture on the recruitment process for store staff
- Address employee issues in a timely manner, aligned with KD values
Health & Safety
- Address employee health & safety concerns in a timely manner, aligned with KD values
Training and Development
- Input and feedback into training materials and development needed
- Hold stores accountable to in-store training execution and safety standards
Finance
- Hold stores accountable for financial results and tasks and control standards
- Analyze store and district-level P/L statements to assess areas of improvement and further opportunity, related to increase sales and profitability and optimizing cost controls.
Procurement
- Hold stores accountable to processes and procedures
- Special project(s)
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Proven experience as a District Manager or similar senior management role, preferably in the retail or food service industry.
- Post-secondary education in business administration, marketing or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and working knowledge of standard software used in the retail industry.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel within the district (up to 90%) and work additional or varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Ability to learn and operate warehouse equipment such as but limited to: electric stacker, electric pallet jack and hand pallet jack.
