Position Summary

The Planner is responsible for working with the dispatch team and third party carriers to effectively implement transportation services to customers and to ensure that all activities are accurately recorded in the company’s transportation management system. Your duties include creating and managing transportation schedules, assigning routes to third party carriers, and ensuring timely deliveries while maximizing resource utilization.

  • Schedule: Mon - Fri, 40 hours

What you will do

  • Plan and Schedule loads efficiently, resulting in succesful on-time metrics for our customers
  • Communicate and monitor with third party carriers to ensure that appointment delivery times are met, and special driver requirements are being adhered to
  • Ensuring that all work is accurately entered and managed in the system in a timely manner, from; order entry, to planning, to activating, progressing and closing loads
  • Complete customer reporting and tracking spreadsheets as required
  • Analyze data and contribue to continual improvement in the department
  • Assisting Dispatchers and third party carriers in troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues and activities

What will you bring

  • 2 years of relevant work experience within the Transportation industry
  • High school diploma

  • Familiarity with trucking; mechanics, hours of service, logistics, etc.
