Purpose

The Director will partner closely with Corporate & Investment Bankers with coverage of clients with revenues greater than $2 billion. They will have responsibility for their own portfolio of clients in the assigned industry sector / region, whilst providing oversight of other Director/Associate Directors covering the same sector/region. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor and single point of contact across all markets, offering dedicated GTB coverage for all products. TMOs will coordinate the global GTB relationship with in‑country subsidiary coverage to provide consistent and simplified client experience. By leveraging your industry leading expertise in global liquidity management, payables and receivables optimization, alternative and emerging payments, foreign exchange, trade finance & working capital solutions, and digital transformation, you’ll strengthen existing connections, prospect new ones and introduce clients to strategic partners as you deliver Scotiabank’s global value proposition and local transaction banking platform.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and drive a customer‐focused culture throughout your own portfolio and your team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Lead a group of industry sector Directors/Associate Directors to develop and implement strategies to identify and secure new transaction banking business, while strategically managing and expanding existing client relationships to maximize revenue growth.
  • Serve as the primary transaction banking relationship contact for CFOs, Treasurers, VPs of Finance, and Controllers, to provide integrated transaction banking solutions within a consultative and client‑driven framework.
  • Lead the delivery of thought leadership to the market, prospects, and clients, in collaboration with solution/product partners on all transaction banking related topics at client roundtables, industry conferences, webinars, and client events.
  • Deliver a seamless end‑to‑end client experience through effective stakeholder management and collaboration with solutions specialists and leading business process reviews aligned to key client sales opportunities.
  • Share industry leading best practices, ideas, and strategies while partnering with internal product stakeholders to represent client perspectives in the development and evolution of complex products and solutions.
  • Lead relationship capital allocation, RoRWA returns and pricing strategy and discussions with internal partners.
  • Collaborate with key partners including Group Treasury, Global Risk Management, Capital Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Operations, Fulfillment and Servicing.
  • Coach and develop junior talent.
What You'll Bring:
  • 7+ years of transaction banking experience including global cash management, liquidity management, trade & working capital solutions, and/or corporate banking or global banking experience.
  • Technical experience in selling and executing on integrated client solutions leveraging the Bank’s partnerships with third‑party vendors.
  • Knowledge and understanding of transaction banking products, credit and risk processes and pricing philosophy.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record in building relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Proven negotiation and active listening skills. Critical and strategic thinking.
  • Concern and regard for managing operational and enterprise risk.
  • Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals as a top individual contributor.
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent.
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation.
  • International banking experience.
  • Strong creative solution and motivation for process improvement.
  • Proven track record of prioritizing competing priorities and leading small groups while delegating tasks.
  • Spanish / French language competency is an advantage.
Work Arrangement:
  • Work in a standard office‑based environment; non‑standard hours are a common occurrence. 4 days a week in office environment, excluding client travel.
  • Domestic and International travel required.
