In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Technical Data Management is accountable for the technical enterprise analytics reporting infrastructure for Island Health's administrative, clinical, financial and employee data.

This position plays a strategic role to help guide decision making, set direction and inform and develop strategies for the enterprise analytics environment for Island Health. This involves identifying, defining, aligning, and sustaining the critical paths and requirements of the technology solutions regarding analytics reporting for the organization.

This position is the Information Steward for the Enterprise Data Warehouse. In this role, the Director is responsible for managing data in a way that reduces the risk that it may be misreported, be misused or be misunderstood. This responsibility extends across the data lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, plus a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in data warehousing development, data modelling and dimensional modelling, ELT design and development and advance knowledge and experience in SQL; including a minimum of five (5) years of recent, related management experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
