Job Summary

The Director, Supply Chain, is responsible for the overall Maintenance and Engineering supply chain operations, including inventory management, asset control, vendor compliance, repairs shipping and receiving inspections and logistics, in close coordination with the Finance and Procurement team. The role develops and implements strategies to ensure critical processes operate effectively. Utilize data monitoring and analytics to evaluate past performance, trends, forecast inventory, distribution, and pre‑draw requirements. Develop strategies to achieve objectives on budget supporting the department’s financial performance.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the development, management and administrating annual budget for Maintenance and Engineering materials
  • Implementation and management for compliance of material control, rotable receiving inspection and system transaction accuracy
  • Ensure adherence to the applicable Transport Canada regulations pertaining to parts certifications along with compliance to Cargojet Policies / Procedures manuals
  • Responsible for Tool Calibration, Shelf‑Life, Quarantine and Inventory Control policies and procedures
  • Liaison with Finance Procurement for reporting, transaction analysis and invoice processing
  • Negotiation of pooling and loan/borrow agreements
  • Ensure Supply Chain Personnel receive adequate training and remain compliant with company recurrent training programs
  • Provide input for revisions to the policies and procedures manuals
  • Establish and maintain a quarantine area, its contents to ensure quarantined components are kept to a minimum
  • Ensure proper disposal of scrap material
  • Recommend vendors to be audited and included in the Approved Vendor List (AVL)
  • Be knowledgeable of Canadian, FAA and EASA requirements for aeronautical products
  • Support the 24/7 AOG functions to supply company on‑hand inventory
  • Manage repair receiving inspection process and service order processes including the validation for compliance to company policies
  • Support Engine shop visits and Life Limited Parts (LLP) Program
  • Participate and ensure representation of the department with the Airworthiness Control Committee and provide data for reporting on component reliability
  • Manage all storage locations including warehouses, Fly Away Kits, Charter Kits and Company Owned Material at MRO vendors
  • Conduct inventory audit and cycle count programs
  • Develop and maintain a Route Guide including customs and logistic agreements for warehouse‑to‑warehouse transfers
  • Support the introduction of new aircraft models and operational opening / closing of bases
  • Ensure training for self and direct reports, keeping employees current with all technical and regulatory training requirements
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace for team members
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety / security policies, procedures and standards
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within an aviation or airline maintenance supply chain organization
  • Excellent knowledge of the airline operational environment
  • Excellent working knowledge with MS Office and Adobe programs
  • Good working knowledge of airline standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of Line / Heavy Maintenance, Engine and Landing Gear MRO procedures
  • Strong knowledge of SOX (Arbanes‑Oxley) and C‑SOX (Bill 198) compliance requirements related to supply chain
  • Previous acting assignments/exposure in above areas an asset
  • High school diploma or general education diploma
  • Certificate program or higher education in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Supply Chain Management an asset
