A regional municipal government is seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial planning and reporting. The role requires a solid background in municipal finance with a minimum of seven years of experience. A CPA designation is essential. The successful candidate will ensure the financial sustainability of the municipality, oversee budgeting processes, and manage financial practices in compliance with regulations. This position offers a salary range of $143,962 - $175,557 annually and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director of Finance and Deputy Treasurer leads the Financial Planning, Financial Reporting and Taxation sections of the Financial Services Division within the Financial Division of the Customer & Financial Services Department. The Director works with the CFO/Treasurer in developing short and long-term financial strategies and is responsible for leading the annual budget process. Acting as a trusted business partner to stakeholders, the Director ensures work supports the long-term financial sustainability of the City and is responsible for continuous improvement through the use of technology, implementing solutions and changing processes and procedures as required. The Director must ensure financial practices and reporting are carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, the City’s financial policies, by-laws, corporate fiscal strategy, and the corporate strategic plan.
A Degree in Business or Public Administration and CPA professional accounting designation in good standing.
The annual salary range for this non-union position is $143,962 - $175,557 (Band Level 10). We offer a comprehensive benefits package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.
Monday to Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week). Occasional evening hours required to attend Council, Public meetings, etc.
