Role Summary
Accountable for leading accounting and finance services functions and being the key contact for these activities with business stakeholders. Specifically, the Director, Finance is responsible for the Company’s consolidated financial statements, its compliance with US GAAP, and all activities related to Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Revenue Processing. Provides day to day leadership and assists in the development of members of the Accounting and Finance Services teams.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance under US GAAP
- Provide monthly overview and variance analysis on the Balance Sheet, driving increased visibility and knowledge across the Finance organization
- Accountable for actual monthly FCF and Cash reporting and analysis to key stakeholders
- Prepare materials, support and oversee annual audits, liaising with external auditors, audit committee, pension committee and board meetings
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance
Accounting Operations & Process Management
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the Accounting and Reporting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
- Ensure Balance Sheet Reconciliations are performed to standards in compliance with our internal policy
- Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with US GAAP, including reviewing and approving areas of complex accounting and approving changes within JDE impacting financial reporting that are aligned to accounting standards and company policies
- Manage confidential and complex stock compensation expense calculations, ensuring accuracy and in accordance under US GAAP
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Accountable for annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and long range planning of FCF and Cash, driving increase in net working capital and maintaining a robust forecasting model tied to P&L assumptions
- Support and guide Treasury team through Cash forecasting and reporting
- Support the CFO and VP Controller in strategic initiatives
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Business Performance, Tax, Treasury) to provide financial insight and decision support; serve as a connector between Finance and other departments, fostering a culture of partnership and shared accountability.
- Identify and monitor areas to improve working capital, optimizing cash flow
- Provide financial input on business initiatives, contracts and capital investments
- Business lead and a key advisor on accounting implications of business decisions such as integration of acquired subsidiaries, divestitures, financial system implementations/enhancements, automations and implementation of new accounting standards
- Influence and shape business outcomes by proactively identifying opportunities and risks, and advising senior leadership
Team Management & Talent Development
- Lead, coach and develop Finance team to achieve on key deliverables
- Support and guide team on their career goals and ensure ongoing enhancement of capabilities, talent sustainability and succession planning
- Set clear goals and performance expectations, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous learning and high performance
- Foster an inspiring and positive team environment
- Mentor and support peers across Finance, promoting consistency, Personal Development (IDP), innovation and excellence in financial practices
- Drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives that elevate Finance’s impact across the organization
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Establish, implement, monitor, strengthen and maintain an effective internal control environment over financial reporting and back office services
- Identify areas of financial risk and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure key controls and proper documentation of key processes in place
What You Bring
- University Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 10+ years progressive Finance & management experience, preferably on the Controller team, including General Accounting functions
- Highly proficient in US GAAP or IFRS
- Big 4 Accounting Firm Experience at the Manager level or above
- Acquisitions and divestitures experience
- CPA, CA

Compensation
Budgeted Range – $139,093.00 - $177,730.00. The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra. The budgeted range will align with qualifications, including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
