Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a Director to join the Brookfield Public Securities Group Team representing the firm’s listed real assets strategies across Canada with institutional clients. The individual will be responsible for principally building new relationships and managing existing client relationships with state/government pension schemes, consultants, family offices, insurers and other institutional asset owners. The Director will operate independently to drive the future growth of the Brookfield Public Securities Group in the region. In addition to client relationship management and sales-oriented capabilities, the Director will be a strategic business builder, with the experience to build and lead a complex and multi-faceted business spanning all of Canada.

Key Accountabilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Deepen Brookfield’s institutional client base across the region with a particular focus on Brookfield’s listed real assets capabilities
  • Represent the continuum of Brookfield’s Public Securities offering across real estate, infrastructure, debt, equity and multi-asset
  • Formulate a strategic plan of capital raising across the Canadian region including geographic focus and product priorities
  • Coordinate logistics for all Canada client visits to other Brookfield offices as part of regular and/or due diligence visits
  • Coordinate logistics for all Brookfield Public Securities professional meetings with Canadian clients
  • Communicate our distinctive investment principles and competitive advantage to institutional investors, effectively positioning Brookfield as a truly differentiated provider of investment solutions
  • Collaborate closely with Brookfield’s US Client Services team, operations and investment teams on a broad range of client related matters
  • Provide exceptional client service and identify opportunities to grow existing and new relationships
  • Convey deep technical knowledge of the firm’s investment strategies and funds
  • Consultants: Deepen relationships with field consultants across the Canadian region
  • Build relationships with Consultant OCIO teams (Canada-based)
  • Collaborate with U.S. based Consultant Relations team members to drive ratings and grow new business influenced by consultants
  • Salesforce Management: Keep Salesforce up to date with changes within client organisations, product marketing status and client meetings
Qualifications / Experience Required
  • At least 10 years’ experience in asset management sales roles
  • Appropriate degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Strong track record of wealth management fund raising and business development in Canada, preferably with a strong orientation towards real assets (both real estate and infrastructure)
  • Strong hedge fund background
  • Prior experience in real assets or liquid alternatives preferred
