What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Learning Systems, the Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics is the go-to expert for data-driven metrics, analysis, visualizations, and storytelling. As a partner to business development operations and marketing teams, this role aligns and transforms data into clear actionable insights to support business decisions and drive short- and long-term objectives, strategies, tactics, and outcomes.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Champion data-driven decision-making and promote the strategic use of data as a key business enabler to optimize revenue growth, market entry, pricing, and profitability.
  • Inform organizational and divisional strategic direction with data insights; deliver high-impact insights to executives and senior leaders across Business Development, Marketing, Academic Office and Operations.
  • Provide analytics to support evaluation of new and existing products, revenue initiatives, customer segments and acquisition opportunities.
  • Build and maintain pricing elasticity models and price optimization algorithms using advanced statistical techniques.
  • Design promotion optimization models to enhance targeted marketing and segment offers; lead experimentation strategies (A / B testing, geo lift studies) to measure causal impact.
  • Lead the development and implementation of KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools that provide actionable insights to drive sales growth and strategic decisions.
  • Build self-service analytics capabilities for internal stakeholders to monitor performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Advance customer and loyalty insights through dashboards and surveys; analyze health and impact of marketing and promotion efforts.
  • Provide analytics to support revenue and customer acquisition initiatives; create dashboards and reports for stakeholders; conduct in-depth sales data analyses and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business development, marketing, product, and data engineering teams to integrate analytical models into business workflows.
  • Enable scalable data solutions; improve processes and systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity; assess growth opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations with leadership.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on analytics; advise on methodologies, tools, and best practices; stay current with industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as required and participate in management meetings to contribute strategic insights.
What We're Looking For
  • 6 - 8 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data warehousing architectures, data modeling, reporting / analytic tools, and forecasting.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative data science and BI with significant business impact.
  • Experience with BI reporting tools and forecasting; knowledge of dashboards / tools (Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Tibco, etc.).
  • Strong SQL, Python, R or equivalent for advanced analytics; broad technical background in analytics, data science, and reporting across marketing attribution, experimentation, optimization, data engineering & architecture, statistics, financial modeling, and behavioral analytics.
  • Experience measuring online and offline marketing and sales using incrementality, attribution and cross-channel methods.
  • Understanding of data capture, storage, and structure in a data warehousing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate, and influence across internal stakeholders; detail-oriented with ownership and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with curiosity and a learning mindset.

Salary Range

CA$120,000 - CA$140,000 per annum

  • This role has 2 direct reports : Data Engineer and Data Analyst.
  • Hybrid work arrangement, on-site at least 3 days a week (including Community Days).
  • Office environment with occasional after-hours work; handles confidential data.
  • Extended periods of sitting and PC use.
