Position Overview

Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategist – Argus

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategist to manage our in-house social media strategy, digital communications and platform management. This role is responsible for developing long-term social media and digital communication plans including advertising campaigns that integrate with our multi-layered marketing campaigns and property operations. You will oversee daily channel management, and ensure all social activity supports brand positioning, business objectives, and audience growth. The ideal candidate is strategic, analytical, and highly collaborative. You are comfortable with capturing images and video meant for social media and digital communications, but this is secondary to the role of strategy, planning and daily management of our social posts and paid online advertising campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and captain the company’s social media strategy in alignment with overall brand, marketing, and business goals
  • Define platform-specific strategies, audience segmentation, and content direction in partnership with internal creative teams for both social platforms and online advertising campaigns such as Bell Media, Meta and Google Ads.
  • Manage planning for campaigns, product launches, seasonal initiatives, and always-on social programming
  • Establish best practices, governance, and documentation for social media and digital communication execution

In-House Social Media and Digital Communication Management

  • Oversee day-to-day management of all brand social media channels
  • Manage publishing schedules, workflows, and approvals across internal teams
  • Ensure consistent brand voice, messaging, and compliance across platforms with direction from the Director of Marketing
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert on social media with direction from the Director of Marketing

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Team Work

  • This position is part of the Marketing, Brand, Creative, Communications, and PR Team of Argus Hospitality and Argus Properties. You will collaborate with the Sales and Operations teams of Hotel Eldorado, Manteo Resort, Four Points Kelowna Airport and the restaurants and food and beverage departments at all of Argus Properties.
  • Align social media and communication initiatives with broader marketing campaigns and company priorities as led by the Director of Marketing
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including agencies or vendors, as needed
  • You will report to the Director of Marketing, and provide weekly reporting on social media platform performance and ad performance

Community & Brand Oversight

  • Work with the Director of Marketing to establish and oversee community management standards and response guidelines
  • Monitor brand sentiment, conversations, and emerging issues
  • Partner with Communications or PR teams on escalation and crisis management

Analytics & Performance Optimization

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for social media performance and paid ad performance
  • Analyze performance data and provide regular insights, reporting, and recommendations
  • Continuously optimize strategy based on performance trends and business outcomes

Trend, Platform & Competitive Leadership

  • Stay current on platform updates, algorithm changes, and industry trends
  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify growth opportunities
  • Recommend new platforms, tools, and strategic initiatives for the brand

Paid Social Strategy (If Applicable)

  • Collaborate with internal media or marketing teams to support paid social strategy
  • Ensure alignment between organic and paid social efforts across hospitality departments, such as event sales, room sales and food and beverage and events.
Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in social media strategy and in-house management
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms, digital platforms (such as Bell Media, YouTube, and Stingray) and best practices
  • Strong experience with analytics, reporting, and performance measurement
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a corporate environment

Preferred

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a mid-to-large organization
  • Familiarity with paid social advertising and campaign optimization
