Job summary

A regional school board in Ontario is looking for a Designated Early Childhood Educator for a full-time temporary position at W. Earle Miller Public School, starting as soon as possible until June 2026. The ideal candidate must be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and will collaborate with teachers to enhance student learning through organized activities. Comprehensive knowledge of the Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Salary ranges from $25.03 to $33.80 per hour.

Position Details: 1.0 (full-time, 35 hours/week)

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and principal to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that reflect the Full-Day Early Learning‑Kindergarten Program
  • Co‑facilitate play‑based activities that allow students to demonstrate learning related to the four frames of the Full‑Day Early Learning‑Kindergarten Program
  • Effectively and efficiently observe and document student learning using a variety of tools and techniques to assist the educator in the assessment of the development of students
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to promote and maintain a healthy physical, emotional and social learning environment
  • Assume other duties/responsibilities specifically related to the functions of children and the effective delivery of the Early Learning Curriculum as determined by the Principal and the Superintendent of Education

  • Thorough understanding of the Ministry of Educations Full‑Day Early Learning‑Kindergarten Program
  • Thorough understanding of the developmental continuum for this age group
  • Demonstrated appropriate behaviour management techniques with individuals, small and large groups

Compensation

Salary in accordance with the current OSSTF‑DECE collective agreement
$25.03 per hour - $33.80 per hour
