Job description
Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts. For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change.

Basic Requirements
  • Chairside Level II Dental Assistant;
  • Graduate from a Level II – Dental Assisting program accredited by the Canadian Dental Assistants Association;
  • Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board;
  • Membership in the Canadian Dental Assistants Association;
  • Minimum level B CPR and First Aid;
  • Must be able to provide documentation illustrating up-to-date immunizations as required by the Canadian Dental Assistants Association;
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical chairside experience;
  • Experience working with digital radiography;
  • Ability to work under pressure and excel in a fast paced, ever changing clinical environment;
  • Superior communication, time management, computer and organizational skills;
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with multi-practitioner dental treatment coordination considered a strong asset;
  • Registration with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association;
  • Experience working with medically, physically or mentally compromised patient base;
  • Experience working in a multi-practitioner/multidisciplinary clinical environment;
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with restorative, endodontic and prosthodontic procedures;
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with Oral & Maxillofacial surgery including dental implants, bone grafts and extractions;
  • Experience ordering clinical supplies for restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic and oral & maxillofacial surgery including ordering of dental implants and related instrumentation;
  • Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
