Job summary

Qualifications

  • Completion of a relevant college diploma or certificate.
  • Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
  • Valid driver's license Class G and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Support communication and day-to-day living for individuals who are deafblind.
  • Use communication techniques to relay information.
  • Provide personal care and assist with personal hygiene.

Skills

Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities
Experience with challenging behaviours
Communication in American Sign Language (ASL)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Education

College diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program
