THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking a Data Analyst for a 12‑month term to join our Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Advanced Analytics, this role will be responsible for developing models, conducting exploratory analysis, and solving operational challenges that support data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical and technical expertise, paired with a deep curiosity for uncovering insights and driving value through data. This role will play a key part in advancing ARC’s analytics capabilities while fostering collaboration and supporting the growth of a data‑informed culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pipeline Development & Operational Efficiency
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines that support real‑time and batch processing, enabling rapid iteration and deployment of economic models.
- Integrate cost regressors and depletion indices to support budget forecasting, long‑term development planning, and scenario analysis for strategic planning.
Prototype to Production
- Rapidly prototype and refine experimental models based on evolving business needs and feedback loops.
- Collaborate with data engineers to transition validated pipelines and models into production environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Support ongoing monitoring and optimisation of production systems to maintain economic relevance and strategic alignment.
Economic Impact & Predictive Modeling
- Leverage statistical techniques, machine learning models, and predictive analytics to transform large datasets into actionable insights that drive capital efficiency, optimise well design, and inform strategic decisions.
- Develop simulations and forecasting tools that quantify economic outcomes across a range of design and operational scenarios.
Business Enablement & Decision Support
- Partner with SMEs, engineers, and analysts to ensure data readiness and model feasibility for strategic initiatives.
- Develop dashboards, interfaces, and visualisations that communicate complex economic insights to non‑technical stakeholders, enabling data‑driven decision‑making.
- Promote adoption of analytical tools through change management and training, embedding data science into core business processes.
- Champion innovation by exploring emerging technologies and methodologies that enhance economic modelling and strategic forecasting.
- Document model workflows, data sources, and solution architectures to support transparency, reproducibility, and knowledge sharing across teams.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC
- A bachelor's or master's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data, with a strong understanding of analytical methodologies and economics.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using visualisation tools to communicate insights effectively.
- Hands‑on experience with Databricks to support collaborative analytics workflows.
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
