Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift 50lbs.

The Horlings Garden Centre invites you to apply to be part of the customer service team at the Horlings Garden Centre - a reputable greenhouse garden centre located on the outskirts of Peterborough. Be a customer service staff at this exciting facility that offers landscaping, greenhouse, nursery and flower services. The primary responsibility of this job is ensuring that all customer needs are met and to provide an exceptional experience we strive for!

Your Accountabilities
  • Strive to ensure that each Customer at Horlings Garden Center receives a level of service that is more than what they expected.
  • Process sales transactions efficiently and effectively
  • Enter orders and send out notifications to guests as and when needed.
  • Support with other customer service tasks as required.
  • Assist in maintenance of department, including watering and cleaning
Qualifications
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • 1-3 years of greenhouse growing experience is an asset, but not mandatory
  • Plant knowledge experience is an asset.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Familiar with environmental greenhouse control systems.
  • Effective communication and organization skills
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions with an attention to detail.
  • Resourceful and works well independently as well as under supervision
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks and situations with effective time management skills.
  • You are punctual and dependable, and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including day, evening, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Plant cultural responsibility begins at potting and extends through harvest.
  • This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift 50lbs and work in various weather conditions and environments.
