Position: Customer Development Manager
Position reports to: Business Team Manager – Savoury
Status: FT, Perm
Availability: Immediate

Position function:
Reporting to the Business Team Manager – Sweet & Dairy of Caldic Canada Inc., the individual will be responsible to lead all aspects of the Sales process for their specified accounts. The role will be supported by a Sales Development Analyst who will assist and support in administrative duties and customer care.
Scope:
The CDM is responsible for promoting Company products as a professional sales representative to all assigned existing and prospective accounts. The individual will develop and maintain productive working relationships with customers that allow sales and marketing goals to be achieved. The individual will conduct in-person sales calls to seek the placement of products in high volume and profitable areas. Ensure that customers are thrilled with products and services. Make recommendations to management regarding business development, pricing, and sales projections. This role requires travel throughout the Quebec Territory and to Caldic offices as required.
Assume responsibility for the effective performance of Sales and Marketing functions.
- Service Customers through in-person and virtual calls in accordance with set KPIs in order to drive growth within assigned Territory
- Develop a strategy and Sales approach to align Caldic capabilities with Customers within the Industry
- Be responsible for setting and executing stretch budget targets that are aligned with the Organization's objectives
- Prospect for new accounts and seek opportunities to increase existing business
- Prioritize product placement to ensure high volume and profitable positioning
- Set up and manage product contracts with customers
- Attend Agency Training, when required and available
- Meet established quotas and sales goals
- Ensure that sales accounts are serviced in accordance with Company standards and policies
- Forecast long-range account sales (sales, volume, margin) and product needs, and communicate related information regularly to management
- Work with procurement to calculate product costs and set pricing for products
- Provide technical support to customers using the various tools and resources provided
- Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and the effect of competitors' operations on sales
- Develop and implement marketing strategies
- Plan budgets, authorize expenditures, and monitor revenues
- Evaluate and improve customer service and respond to customer requests and issues
Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining good business relations with customers and external trade contacts.
- Ensure that customers are satisfied with Company products and services
- Obtain customer feedback and continually work to improve products and services
- Complete and resolve customer requests, complaints, and inquiries
- Promote products and services at trade shows and organize display material
Assume responsibility for maintaining effective working relations, communication, and coordination with Company personnel and with management.
- Set sales goals in accordance with Company objectives. Track progress towards set goals
- Provide assistance to support personnel as needed
- Keep management informed of area activities, changes in competitive conditions, and significant issues
- Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly
- Attend meetings as required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A university degree or college diploma in business administration or Food Science or equivalency is a strong asset other field related to the product or service being sold may be required
- Prior B2B Sales experience an asset, preferably in specialty ingredients
- Ability to ask great questions to identify needs of our Customers, and link them to innovative solutions
- Fact-based selling approach and exudes confidence in negotiations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both external and internal
- Understanding of Caldic’s product positioning and competitive conditions
- Sales and marketing proficiency
- A strong track record of success (profitable sales growth)
- Exceptional time management, prioritizing and organizational skills to meet deadlines with a strong sense of urgency and a drive for results
- A great team member, with ability to lead cross-functional Teams to execute Customer strategies
- Takes the initiative, can work with little supervision
- Good computer skills in Windows environment (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), CRM skills a plus
