Sales Associate Job Description

The Sales Associate role is an integral part of the store’s overall success and efficiency: demanding direct attention to our brand commitment when servicing our customers and driving results. Responsible for upholding Coach’s Service and Selling Models, creating a positive first impression, building on-going customer relationships through a personalized experience, and leaving a positive, lasting impression.

Responsibilities

  • SALES FLOOR: Understands organizational objectives and makes decisions that align with Company priorities
  • Delivers results by taking ownership of personal and store metrics and develops clienteling strategies with management
  • Creates short- and long-term strategies to achieve personal metrics and performance goals
  • Takes ownership of personal survey results and creates plans to improve
  • Represents Coach as a brand ambassador and upholds selling and service expectations
  • Supports local sales strategies and tactics in response to market changes
  • Drives business through sales strategies, clienteling, sourcing new customers and maintaining relationships
  • Communicates product features, benefits, and value; provides in-depth product knowledge
  • Discusses pricing and promotional strategy with customers
  • Cross-sells and recommends add-ons aligned with customer needs
  • Reads customer cues to tailor approach; attends to unique shopping needs
  • Manages multiple customers and follows up to influence/close sales
  • Opens to feedback, stays calm and professional

OPERATIONS

  • Completes daily tasks without impacting service or Coach standards
  • Maintains clean and organized sales floor and backroom; adheres to POS, operations and asset protection procedures
  • Replenishes inventory and supports store inventory process
  • Assists with cash-wrap during purchases, returns, and exchanges
  • Maintains visual merchandising standards and prepares store for daily operations

Experience: 1-3 years of previous sales experience, preferably in a luxury retail service environment. Knowledge of fashion trends and competition in the marketplace.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

Technical: Knowledge of cash register systems, basic computer skills (including iPad/laptop, Mobile POS and Internet), walkie talkie use, read price and product release sheets.

Physical: Ability to work at a fast pace; effective communication with customers and team; ability to maneuver the sales floor, shelves, and stock room; ability to climb, bend, kneel; can lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds for shipments/transfers.

Schedule: Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays with high retail traffic and events (e.g., day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, etc.).
