MISSION

The Counsellor (MSW) plays a pivotal role in the Live-In Treatment program, providing therapeutic support and counselling to youth facing emotional, psychological, and social challenges. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions within a structured milieu environment.

The Pod Group partners with this organization to place a strategic individual in the role of the Counsellor (MSW).

PRIORITIES

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conduct assessments, identify needs, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Address crises effectively, ensuring youth safety through de-escalation and supportive interventions.
  • Facilitate life skills and coping skills training for residents.
  • Assist youth and families in navigating healthcare and community resources, advocating for their needs.
  • Partner with medical staff, psychologists, and therapists to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Design and implement individualized, goal-oriented treatment programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans, adhering to standards.
  • Participate in community education to promote mental health awareness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master's degree in Social Work or relevant field.
  • Registration with OCSWSSW or CRPO required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Live-In Treatment or relevant healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical treatment experience.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and CPI certification.
  • Strong psychosocial assessment skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven clinical skills in therapy and counselling.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Flexible hours as needed.
