Agropur is looking for a Cost Accounting Specialist to join its team in St-Hubert.

As an Cost Accounting Specialist, you will play a key role in cost analysis, supporting innovation projects, and managing the financial aspects of operations. This position combines rigor and cross-functional collaboration, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives and actively participate in growth.

  • Salary scale 005: $82600 to $103 200 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)
What this role involves:

More specifically, the responsibilities as a Cost Accounting Specialist are:

  • Analyze variables influencing costs, margins, and operational performance, and make recommendations to optimize financial results.
  • Provide clear analyses and explanations to stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal and logistics teams to identify and implement efficiency and profitability levers.
  • Participate in the implementation of new functions or processes, ensuring documentation, training, and team alignment.
  • Develop, monitor, and interpret performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve simulation, forecasting, and cost calculation models by integrating operational data and contextual changes.
  • Update cost-plus pricing models, ensuring transparency and accuracy to support negotiations and business decisions.
  • Conduct profitability analyses for new product designs in collaboration with R&D.
What you need to join our team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation (asset)
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years in cost accounting
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally agri-food (asset)
  • Good knowledge of logistics/transportation (asset)
  • Bilingual French/English
  • Advanced Excel skills (SAP or Oracle: asset)
