Cost Analyst

Responsibilities
  • General Duties: We have a need for a high energy individual with strong technical and analytical skills to join our Regulated Hydro Engineering Support Services Team. The ideal candidate is expected to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills complemented by the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • As a key member of the team, you will provide analytical support for the capital functions within division. Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst you will be primarily responsible for monthly tracking and reporting on all capital metrics and the management of capital related activities including SCurve reporting, monthly accruals, capital budget changes orders, project forecasting, detailed variance analysis, ad-hoc reporting requirements and project close outs.
  • You should have an ability to interact efficiently and professionally with all levels of employees across the organization, coupled with an eagerness to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
Qualifications
  • A University Degree in business supplemented with a professional accounting designation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis and/or accounting
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of corporate systems such as JDE E1 Financial System, Spreadsheet Server, Showcase, Clarity as well as exceptional knowledge of MS Suite, especially Excel and Power point
  • General knowledge of the hydro electric utility or other capital intensive industry would be considered an asset
