Opportunity

As a valued member of our Corporate Safety team, you’ll play an important role in three key areas: Safety Analysis, Safety Investigation Support, and SMS Process Support. You will help maintain the integrity of our Safety Management System (SMS) by assisting with trend analysis, investigation documentation, and process improvements that keep our operations safe and compliant. Your contributions will enable business continuity and strengthen our commitment to safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Analysis
  • Support analysis of safety trends from various SMS outputs.
  • Assist with compilation of Airport and Inflight, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Assist with developing and improving measurement of corporate safety investigation team objectives and corrective actions.
Safety Investigation Support
  • Assist with Airport and Inflight safety investigations and administrative functions, as required.
  • Provide Airport and Inflight safety investigator business continuity support.
  • Accept and support all administrative functions for non‑Injury and non‑illness Occupational Health and Safety files.
  • Accept and assign Employee Illness and Injury files for Corporate OSH follow up.
  • Ensure timely acceptance and proper documentation of investigation files to support business continuity.
SMS Process Support
  • Assist with SMS database management and administrative functions, design, and process development.
  • Analyze SMS process performance, assist with development of relevant KPIs and performance measures, and provide regular reports to continuous improvement.
  • Support safety management process continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education
  • A post‑secondary degree in business administration, aviation or safety is preferred.
Certifications/Training
  • Transport Canada or ICAO‑compliant Safety Management Systems (SMS) training is preferred
  • Accident Investigation training considered an asset.
  • Human Factors training (CCAA, CAOC, or IAAE Canada) are considered an asset.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking with an understanding of system interrelationships, while upholding professionalism,, and ethical standards.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to lead and delegate tasks effectively, while collaborating and supporting team objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings and investigations, craft clear and concise written materials, and communicate professionally with diverse audiences such as leadership, technical teams, and frontline staff.
  • At least 3 years’ experience creating and formatting user‑friendly documents in Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF including document cross‑referencing using hyperlinks, bookmarks, internet language, etc.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Writer.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Basic Knowledge of social media platforms for business use.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years' experience in an 'Airports' role (e.g., customer service agent, cargo agent, aircraft tow operator, ramp agent, STOC, load planner or DCC) AND/OR inflight experience OR at least 1 year of Safety Management Systems (SMS experience.
  • Knowledge of airline operations, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Visio/RFFlow.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Manufacturer publication software systems.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
