Job Summary

Reporting to the Coordinator of the Provincial Hope & Healing Program and under the direction of the Manager-Hope & Healing Program, the Coordinator is responsible for the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of cancer information, education, support and wellness programs for people living with cancer delivered through the CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) Paul Albrechtsen Centre for Hope.

This includes the coordination of the Centre operations and training and supervision of onsite volunteers to support programming. The position requires networking with CCMB, community stake holders and partners to build strong relationships to assist with program development, equitable access and promotion.

The Coordinator works as a team member of the CancerCare Manitoba Provincial Hope & Healing Program and the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre (WMCC).

Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in Education, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or Community Development. A combination of related education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in program planning, development, coordination, delivery, promotion and evaluation.
  • Minimum of one year of experience with coordinating volunteers
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to build and develop collaborative partnerships
  • Experience with tracking statistics and report writing
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting and financial reportin
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Experience working independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft office, Excel, PowerPoint and virtual platforms (MS Teams, Zoom).
Asset
  • Experience with community engagement
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Experience working with First Nations, Métis, Inuit communities and/or demonstrated understanding of cultural safety, anti-racism, and the impacts of colonization within healthcare systems.
Other
  • Must own or have access to transportation for performance of duties.
  • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends
    Some travel may be required.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
