A boutique law firm in Surrey is seeking an experienced conveyancer to join their team. You'll be responsible for managing client files, liaising with lawyers, and preparing conveyancing documents. The ideal candidate has over 3 years of experience, strong technical skills, and proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office. This full-time role offers a competitive salary between $60,000 and $65,000 CAD.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a conveyancing capacity.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completion of a recognized legal assistant program or equivalent experience.

Job description

Our client is a boutique law firm located in the Surrey/White Rock area providing litigation, corporate, real estate and conveyancing, trust and estate services. They are hiring for a conveyancer to join their team.

Job responsibilities:

  • Liaise with lawyers on file progress, identifying risks and/or red flags
  • Correspond with and follow-up with clients, real estate agents, banks, mortgage brokers, and notaries
  • Deal with clients directly to obtain information and answer any conveyancing related queries
  • Start file, reviewing contracts, title searches and other legal documents
  • Prepare sale, purchase, and mortgage documents for residential conveyancing
  • Register documents electronically with the Land Title Office
  • Obtain, sort, file and verify documents for completion
  • Prepare, draft and manage conveyancing documents, correspondence, reports and accounts
  • Report to financial institutions and clients and follow-up on discharges
  • Manage electronic and paper conveyancing client files
  • Organize and assemble due diligence searches
  • Coordinate and schedule conveyancing meetings and appointments with legal team
  • Close client files, including compiling data records and preparing for offsite storage
  • Provide back-up support or assist other staff with overflow work and with other projects as required

Experiences:

  • 3+ years of experience in a conveyancing capacity and in a professional services environment
  • Completion of a recognized legal assistant program or equivalent experience and training
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Previous experience with legal software and programs such as econveyance, BC Online and Land Title and Survey Authority (LTSA)

Salary: 60-65k
