Title: Controller

Location: Saint-Laurent, Quebec

Status: Permanent

Salary: $130,000 - $140,000

Work schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will be a key player in managing the 6-person accounting team and will contribute to improving financial processes and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Accounting & Consolidation:
    • Prepare and consolidate monthly financial statements for Canadian and U.S. subsidiaries.
    • Ensure accurate accounting for work in progress.
    • Analyze budget variances and production costs.
  • Financial Management:
    • Manage monthly cash flow and maintain relationships with business banks.
    • Participate in managing financial projections and the overall budgeting process.
    • Coordinate the preparation of tax reports (GST, QST, U.S. sales taxes, etc.).
  • Internal Controls & Processes:
    • Review and implement internal controls.
    • Monitor compliance with internal policies and processes, and implement corrective measures as needed.
    • Collaborate on the development of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a 6-person accounting team.
  • Projects & Systems:
    • Participate in the implementation and development of new technological tools and systems (ERP, CRM, payroll).
    • Oversee the preparation for the external audit.
  • Strategic Support: Assist with due diligence for potential acquisitions and the integration of acquired businesses, as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Certification: CPA designation is a strong asset.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, including team management.
    • Experience in project accounting or cost accounting.
    • Experience with US GAAP.
    • Experience with ERP systems and implementations is a plus.
  • Skills: Bilingualism (French and English), due to international exposure.
