Job description

The Content Strategist role is new on the design system team, so you will be a primary influence on our content and documentation processes defined in our documentation, patterns, IA and experience fragments as design systems use logic and syntax to make sense of abstract and complex things. We aim to develop and manage our digital content approach in our global content style, including voice, tone, and grammar rules, that is applicable to different regions, languages and information architecture. You will have a strong design and code fluency in your approach that will help inform a content designer’s practice, participate in content creation for new products and existing products, and the ability to operate in a global matrixed environment.

Position Responsibilities:
Governance of Content Strategy
  • Develop and maintain documentation, UI strings, and other content assets within the design system and ensure content can be reused and repurposed efficiently.
  • Align stakeholders on IA approach in a globally shared and complex website navigation structure
  • Build trustworthy relationships with consumers by making “people’s decisions easier and lives better” a core facet of our company mission
  • Establish a cohesive conversation with consumers of our system within each segment and across our many digital experiences for our end users
Establish metrics and analyze performance
  • Test your content on real customers, iterate until it’s clear as a bell and study analytics to drive your messaging decisions and support/dispel your assumptions
  • Drive usability by ensuring that all content is reusable, useful, clear, and easy to understand, regardless of the user's location or language.
  • Scale communication with content that allows for scalability, making it easier to adapt the design system for new digital properties and global markets.
Design System Expertise
  • Leverage working knowledge of Figma libraries, Storybook, and associated documentation materials to unite product teams in their entirety around a central source of truth.
  • Develop communication strategies for getting people to use and build trust with the Global Design System
  • Contribute to the writing and editing for our design system documentation site and support our team by helping them to use language and communication to describe the things that are involved in creating the parts of a design system.
Writing to include more people
  • Promote inclusivity
  • Approach content that people see themselves represented in the product. This could include French, or other languages.
  • Considerations for approaching inclusive UX writing to build products to function with assistive technology.
  • Document an approach for UX content, including: Visible text, including labels for UI elements, text on buttons, links, and forms, alt text for buttons with icons, images, workflows, tutorial formats and anything else that a person can read inside a product
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or an equivalent design related field
  • 5 years of experience designing information architectures (IA), user experiences (UX), and content strategies
  • More than 3 years of experience managing digital content strategy for consumer facing web, mobile, or social applications
  • 1 year of experience with web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, WebTrends, Google Analytics, and Documentation tooling sites like Zeroheight or Storybook
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An extremely conscientious, detail-oriented individual with tangible work experience
  • Articulate and prepared, able to confidently substantiate your decisions to peers and senior‑level executives alike
  • Positive yet practical; Quick without compromising quality, knowing that iteration and testing are part‑and‑parcel to designing exceptional user experiences
  • Takes initiative, isn’t afraid to fail, asks thoughtful questions, and constantly seeks better ways of working and communicating
  • Consistently presents a positive, flexible attitude and contributes to a fast‑paced environment, high‑visibility team with others to edit at the same time.
  • Enjoys working with a fun team of richly creative and accomplished professionals
When you join our team:
  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well‑being and inclusion are more than just words.
