Overview

Our client in Thunder Bay is looking for a Construction Superintendent to join their team across heavy civil projects. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a passion for construction, a strong foundation in project supervision and, and the desire to build a long-term career in the field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, supervise, and lead all onsite activities for heavy civil construction projects
• Monitor project progress, maintain requisite documentation / records, and coordinate with project manager regarding relevant issues and project progression
• Interpret contract drawings, specifications and correspondence
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure project goals are achieved
• Coordinate and supervise relevant subcontractors, trades, and external suppliers
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards, and environmental regulations
• Daily quantity / production and cost reporting to direct supervisors and senior management, as required

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience managing heavy civil construction projects of varying scale and scope
• Specific experience with asphalt paving, grading, traffic control, and pipe installations is required
• Strong working knowledge of construction process, OPSS specifications, OTM Book 7, and other relevant construction manuals
• Experience with GPS and elevation layout equipment is an asset
• Experience with equipment operation is an asset
